Commonly asked questions about our company, product, and policies.
Yes, we were founded in early 2020 with the mission of producing our own protection that is not only readily available, but of great quality.
At the moment United States Mask does not have a physical store. However, our customer service team is available during business hours to answer any questions you may have.
As we answer this (September 2021) our team is working to get our production facilities ready for our new model(s). There is a lot that goes into manufacturing an N95 respirator, but we are working as quickly as we can while adhering to our strict quality standards.
Yes, we’re here. We’ve had our heads down working on that awesome new model we keep talking about…. We do realize we’ve been not great about updating social media and things and we’re so sorry - we'll work on that too. 😊
We’re working on multiple ideas, but our focus has been, and remains certifying our new N95. It’s going to look similar, but there will be a couple of minor changes we think you’ll like. You all have given us great feedback on the 1836 which has allowed us to improve our design even more. We never thought we would nerd out about things like layers of polypropylene, head straps, and lab equipment, but here we are.
Yes! You can find us listed on the CDC website here: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/N95list1sect3-u.html
United States Mask N95 respirators have head straps. This is the American standard for N95s. If you find a mask in the marketplace labeled N95 with ear loops, it is counterfeit and not an N95 by CDC/NIOSH standards.A KN95 with ear loops meets the Chinese standard but does not meet NIOSH standards.
That’s not a question but yes, the nose piece is thicker (but not too thick) by design. Adjust it to get a good fit for your face and your glasses won’t fog.
No. Don’t do that. These are disposable (and recyclable!) N95 respirators designed for one use. Please check the CDC website for their guidelines on the reuse of N95 respirators.
Your model 1836 is recyclable! Put it in your recycle bin, or, at the very least, throw it in the trash (not on the ground.) It’s always a good idea to wash your hands after.
No. They are also fiberglass free, gluten free, sulfite free, fat free, cholesterol free and dairy free, and our machinery doesn’t process nuts. (OK, so not all of those are ‘frequently asked,’ but we like to cover our bases.)
At the moment, we only offer our white N95 respirator. However, producing our masks in different colors is something that we are looking at for the future and we understand the need. Different colors come with its own set of challenges, and we want to make sure that when we do, we are procuring the same high quality materials used in our white N95.
Our masks are probably equivalent to a M/L sized mask. The dimensions of the mask are roughly 6 inches in height and 4 inches in width (those dimensions are with the mask completely open).
